Ganpati Sthapna or Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is the Hindu festival that reveres god Ganesha . It is celebrated as birth anniversary of Lord Ganesh. On this day Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.

The Ganeshotsav, the festivity of Ganesh Chaturthi, ends after 10 days on Anant Chaturdashi which is also known as Ganesh Visarjan day. In preparation for the festival, artisans create clay models of Ganesha for sale and devotees of Lord Ganesha bring home Ganesh idols and worship them for 1 and half, 3, 5, 7 or 9 days and then immerse the Lord Ganesha idol in water.
